The biggest game of the night takes place in Pullman, WA, as Gonzaga travels to play Washington State. Gonzaga has proven that they are one of the best teams in the country, as they won the Old Spice Classic beating Oklahoma State, Maryland, and Tennessee. But all three of those teams played at a fairly quick pace. Wazzu wants to slow you down and grind out a win in the 50's. This will be a good test for the 'Zags, as Wazzu is always tough at home, even if the Cougars are a little bit down this year.
There are two things Gonzaga needs to do to win tonight. The first is to try and establish the post by getting the ball inside. After Aron Baynes, Wazzu does not have much on the interior, and Baynes is extremely foul prone. Get him saddled with fouls early, and the 'Zags size advantage becomes a lot greater. The other is that Jeremy Pargo needs to play with patience. Last year he had a tendency to rush on the offensive end, especially when things were getting bogged down offensively. But Pargo has been much better this year, and if he can run this team and get them good looks against a stingy Cougar defense, the 'Zags should roll back to Spokane with a win.
The rest of the night's not-so-interesting games:
