The SEC/Big East Invitation continues tonight as Louisville takes on Mississippi and Cincinnati takes on Mississippi State. Ole Miss has really been scrapping as they are 7-3 despite losing two key players to injuries for the season early on. David Huertas has turned into one of best scorers in the SEC, averaging 21.6 ppg, and if you haven't seen Chris Warren play yet, be sure to tune in because the kid is exciting. Louisville has yet to really be tested this season and they could really use a statement game over an SEC team.
The Cinci-MSU looks a little more exciting on paper. The Bearcats are more talented with guys like Deonta Vaughn, Yancy Gates, and Mike Williams, but the Cinci size-advantage inside will be held in check by Javis Varnado, who is leading the nation with 6.2 bpg.
UPDATE: Apparently, at 1:15 AM last night, Rebels head coach Andy Kennedy had some sort of altercation with a cab driver. The cabbie, of north-african descent, wouldn't let him get in a cab with four other people because there weren't enough seat belts, so Kennedy punched him in the head and called him "bin Laden" and "Saddam Hussein". Real nice.
The rest of the ranked teams playing tonight:
- 7:00 PM: Evansville (7-1) @ UNC (9-0)
- 7:00 PM: Charleston Southern (5-4) @ Florida State (10-1)
- 9:00 PM: Texas Southern (0-9) @ Gonzaga (7-1)
