-Tennessee will be down to just one point guard after freshman Daniel West was declared ineligible. With JP Prince currently on the shelf with a shoulder injury, JuCo transfer Bobby Maze will be the only PG on the Volunteer's roster. And remember, Maze got the boot from the Oklahoma team.
-Villanova forward Shane Clark will be out for 4-6 weeks after Clark underwent minor surgery to clean out loose particles in his right knee. This is not as big a blow as it would seem, as Villanova does have some depth up front. If worst comes to worst, it would give Casiem Drummond and Antonio Pena a chance to develop in the early season. 'Nova needs all three to be healthy and ready to play if they want to make any noise in the Big East this year.
-Ole Miss shooting guard Trevor Gaskins will miss the year after tearing his ACL. Gaskins averaged 5.9 ppg last year as a freshman and made the all-SEC freshman team.
-Georgia Tech guard Lewis Clinch will be ineligible for the first semester (seven games) because of poor grades.
-UCLA forward Nikola Dragovic was suspended after being arrested on charges that he pushed his girlfriend to the ground.
-A couple D3 schools won exhibitions against D1 teams. Randolph-Macon beat George Mason 73-72 and UW-Platteville beat Bradley 84-79.
-This Lute Olson saga keeps getting weirder and weirder. This time, a restraining order and a "bullet-riddled target sheet".
