And if you believe what you read on twitter, then it could be serious. According to Andy Katz, Robertson has a stress reaction in his foot. For those that don't remember, last season, Tyler Hansbrough missed time early in the season with a stress reaction in his shin.
I'm not a doctor, but from what I can tell, a stress reaction is a predecessor to a stress fracture; in other words, not a good thing for an athlete in season.
Katz goes on to tweet that the injury could result in Robertson playing on a "tolerance basis, which one can only assume means he will play as long as he can handle the pain.
If Robertson is out for an extended period of time, this is a huge blow. They are already without Harper Kamp, a guy that would provide quite a bit of the toughness, defense, and rebounding they are missing in the paint. Even with Kamp in the line-up, Cal is a team that relies on their perimeter players to create offense. Without Robertson, there is just that much more pressure on Randle and Christopher.
Cal is currently getting run off the court against Syracuse at the Garden, and a large reason for that is they cannot do anything offensively. The Orange are underrated right now, especially defensively, but that doesn't change the fact that Cal does not look like a team that can compete for a Pac 10 title right now.
