There are two things Gonzaga needs to do to win tonight. The first is to try and establish the post by getting the ball inside. After Aron Baynes, Wazzu does not have much on the interior, and Baynes is extremely foul prone. Get him saddled with fouls early, and the 'Zags size advantage becomes a lot greater. The other is that Jeremy Pargo needs to play with patience. Last year he had a tendency to rush on the offensive end, especially when things were getting bogged down offensively. But Pargo has been much better this year, and if he can run this team and get them good looks against a stingy Cougar defense, the 'Zags should roll back to Spokane with a win.
The rest of the night's not-so-interesting games:
- 7:00 PM: Charlotte (2-6) @ Mississippi State (6-2)
- 7:30 PM: Ohio (4-3) @ Xavier (7-0): If you get a chance to see this game, watch Ohio's Jerome Tillman, who is averaging 20.7 ppg and 10.7 rpg.
- 8:00 PM: Florida Gulf Coast (2-5) @ Florida (6-2)
- 8:00 PM: Maine (5-4) @ Oklahoma (8-0)
- 8:00 PM: Alabama A&M (1-3) @ Vanderbilt (5-3)
- 8:00 PM: California (6-2) @ Utah (5-2)
- 8:00 PM: Chicago State (3-4) @ Illinois (8-1): David Holston of Chicago State is one of the most exciting players in the country. Only 5'8", he is averaging 28.3 ppg and 5.0 apg and has already hit 30 points five times this year.
- 8:05 PM: Butler (7-0) @ Bradley (4-3); 8:05 PM: Dayton (8-0) @ Creighton (5-2): Two great min-major match-ups. There is a real shot that three of these teams (Dayton, Butler, Creighton) will be in the NCAA Tourney come March.
- 9:00 PM: San Diego State (7-1) @ Arizona (5-2)
- 10:05 PM: Boise State (6-1) @ BYU (8-0)
